Fact: 

You can take steps to save someone who has overdosed on opioids. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about life-saving naloxone.

Fact: 

Wisconsin collected 58,729 pounds in medication during the October 22 drug take back day.

Fact: 

In 2015, more people in Wisconsin died from opioid overdoses than in car crashes. 

 Drug Related Deaths: Opioid Pain Relievers

​​Drug deaths have been on rise in Wisconsin for the last sixteen years. Drug-related deaths are driven by opioid pain relievers.​The below graphic shows the spike in opioid pain reliever deaths rising to 384 in 2015 compared to 281 herioin related deaths.
